Guidelines for Reopening Schedule for Classes

PHASE 111

Dear students and family members:

It is our hope to be able to resume offering classes on Thursday July the 2nd if our Governor allows our state to begin phase 3 operations prior to this date. In preparation for our reopening we have had to make a few changes in order to be able to comply with all the new requirements and provide a safe environment for our customers and their families. There will be a change in class times and a limit on the number of people who will be allowed into the building at any one time. Also, anyone who meets the following criteria is advised not to attend any classes or enter the facility until all COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted and it is deemed safe to function in a normal manner. Those who may be at high risk are as follows:

Persons that have traveled to affected areas with recent spikes in COVID-19 are asked to self-monitor health conditions for a reasonable amount of time (minimum 2 weeks) before returning to class. This is to ensure you are safe to be around others. Examples of affected areas are, but not limited to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, TN, California, etc.
Persons sixty-five years old or older
Persons with a compromised immune system
Persons who have kidney, liver, lung or heart related illnesses should not consider entering the building or participating in classes.
Persons who have artery or vascular related issues
Persons who have had any of the following symptoms, cough, fever, chills, muscle aches, temperature, shortness of breath, lose of the ability to either taste or smell or stomach issues within the last forty eight hours or who have been in contact with someone else who has demonstrated these symptoms within the last 48 hours should not attend class.

OPERATING GUIDELINES:

Social distancing will be maintained at all times.
All persons must wear a face mask and mask must be put on prior to entering the facility and must not be removed until they have exited the facility.
No more than 75 percent of building capacity will be allowed on the workout floor at any one time.
No more than five people will be allowed to occupy the office space at any one time. This number includes any office personnel who may be working at the time.
Those entering the building may also be asked to allow their temperature to be taken prior to entering the facility.
Class times will be changed to allow a fifteen minute interval between the beginning and end of each class so students will have opportunity to enter and leave facility without causing overcrowding in the entrance ways. For the safety of all concerned we ask that any visitations or discussions should be done either prior to or after exiting the facility due to limited space and the maintaining of social distancing.

CLASS TIMES AND FLOOR RULES:

The first class will begin at 5 pm and will last until 5:50 pm and will be for the children.
The second class will go from 6:05 PM until 7:00 pm and will be for beginner adults and advanced children.
The third class will be from 7:15 pm until 8:10 pm and will be for advanced level adults, belt level purple and above. Note: This may change if necessary to accommodate transportation needs for a family situation.

FLOOR RULES:

Everyone, student or instructor must wear a face covering at all times.
No hands on training with another student will be allowed except in cases where students from the sane household are attending class together or prior permission is granted by floor instructor.
Students must maintain social distancing and should make it a rule to keep a distance of six feet apart from other students whenever possible.
No mat work will be allowed such as tumbling or wrestling.
ALWAYS wash hands after handling any equipment and after coming into physical contact with any other students.

Lion and Lamb Karate Kids is a family-oriented, Christ-centered Martial Arts and Self-Defense School. The organization is overseen by Barry Bandy - Shihan, 5th-Dan who is the Kaicho (President) and the Sokensha (Founder) of the style of martial arts taught: Heion Shin Budo. We have been serving our community and surrounding area for over fourteen years. In 2005 we became the first martial arts school to complete the certification process set forth by Karate for Christ International in order to become a Nationally Certified School.

The style of Heion Shin Budo is recognized by Karate for Christ International and Seishin-Do Karate Seishoku-Kai as a legitimate Gendai Budo Ryu (modern martial art style).
